Rotary District 1150 News and Main Page

Every year group in our school has at least one representative who comes to our regular  meetings which are held every second Tuesday of the month at 10.00am. These are formal meetings which are held by our elected president. This year we have 56 members  representing years 7 - 13.

The national projects this year which we are currently undertaking are:

Maputo Housing project for  Rotary International - Millennium Project. In order for us to successfully achieve this aim, we have raised £300.

The local projects which we support are:

Every second Thursday of the month we organise a Luncheon Club for the elderly residents who live in the Johnstown area of the town.

  • We will present Christmas presents to three of the residential areas in close proximity of the school.

  • We support the local youth club Dr. M’s.

  • We have raised money for the local charity Breakthrough who raise money for leukemia sufferers

As a school we are working to raise money to fund a trip of Chernobyl Students to visit us for a month to help them recover from their  intensive chemotherapy. We will hopefully host them next July and August for about four weeks. The age of the students will range from 16 - 18 years. We are looking forward to seeing them

The interact club has elected a President, Secretary and Treasurer. These are:

President           Hannah Thomas
Vice President   Sian Thomas
Secretary            Lowri Jones
Treasurer          Catherine Cowley

We'd like to give a big thank you for the organisation on valuable effort put in by Mrs Jean Williams, who co-ordinates all of the fund raising events.
