Kids Out - Caerphilly

As a very small club , the RC of Caerphilly has shied away from organising a Kids Out Day , although for several years we have taken local youngsters to the pantomime.

This summer the club decided to give it a whirl !  ... in cooperation with local agents in the Caerphilly Basin /Rhymney Valley... and supported by Top KAT's Travel... a group of youngsters and their parents / carers set off for a wonderful day out.  The visit included a stop at the Welsh Hawking Centre, before moving on for a wonderful afternoon at Barry Island + the Funfair .    All the kids , parents & rotarians had a fab day !

The club would like to thank the RC Barry for its support and 'technical assistance', especially PE Ceri Griffiths The party was escorted by 4 past presidents of the club. [ see photo ]

To mark both the Club's 50th Anniversary .. and Rotary International's 100 years of service, the Rotary Club of Caerphilly decided to provide an information board for the town centre. The board contains a map of the town on one face, with town features and history on the other.

The board was unveiled on the 11th December , with President Phil Evans and Club members meeting up with the Mayor of Caerphilly County Borough (CC David Wiltshire).. and the Town Mayor (CC Mark Newman) at the Twyn , Caerphilly.
